Artists & Art SitesBriar JonesThe works in this show consist of watercolors and pastel drawings created between 1996 and 2009. The earliest works in the show are from a trip to Italy in 1996 and the most current works are studio paintings created in 2009. All of the work was created or inspired by observations made, mostly during travel. Imagery includes Italian and English landscapes and buildings, delta landscapes, coastal seascapes and random other visual observations and musings. The show consists of works created both plein air and in the studio inspired by sketchbooks and travel logs. W. Briar Jones graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1994 and is a partner in the architecture firm of Thomas Shelton Jones & Associates, PLLC in Starkville, MS.
